Isabelle Hamley is currently Chaplain to the Archbishop of Canterbury. Before that, she was a vicar in Nottingham, and Old Testament tutor at St John’s College. She loves Scripture, especially the Old Testament and the tough texts that everyone is afraid of.
At Lambeth Palace, she oversees worship, theology and works with the community of St Anselm, a group of young people taking a year out for prayer, study and service.
She’s passionate about justice, about enabling children to grow in faith, and about chocolate. She’s married to Paul and has one daughter, Aelwen, who is 10, and by far the best and most inquisitive theologian in the family.
